GUIDELINES FOR MERIT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME FOR SCHOOL RANK HOLDERS

Introduction

Education has had played a very vital role in the history of nation building all over the world. There is a need to modernize our education system and equally important to continuously attract young and talented students to pursue higher education.

To emerge as a powerful nation, there is an urgent need to bring in talented students in the field of education by motivating them in the form of scholarship. Therefore, VMS has introduced a “ programme for Primary Education Rank Holders (Class-I to IX).

The purpose of this scholarship is to attract talent for pursuing primary education. It helps in empowering academic and career goals by boosting their minds.

It’s not the amount that matters but the meaning behind donor’s donation. Donors make small dreams turns into big realities. Hereby selected donors are spreading their hands by contributing for rank holder students through giving such scholarship to uplift their future. Fundraisers are the spark that ignites change.”

Role Of School

  • The school will provide a platform to the donors will work with our institute to form a Scholarship Advisory committee whose purpose it will be to make initial scholarship award recommendation. In all events, the institute shall have ultimate approval authority over final scholarship award recipients.
  • The school will maintain transparency of awards to build cross bridge between donors, institute and student-parent. It is the manner of hand to hand donation.
  • The school will promote scholarship opportunities to the students.
  • The school will maintain regular contacts with donors and parents.
  • The school will maintain all the records of scholarship programme.

Objectives of Scholarship

  • To promote and nurture talent.
  • To reward meritorious students with outstanding performance at primary level studies.
  • To build up academic excellence.
  • To build up academic excellence.
  • To recognize outstanding achievements of students.

Target Group

  • The First, Second and Third rank holders at Primary education (Class-I to IX) would be awarded the scholarship.
  • The scholarship would, however, be subjected to securing a minimum of 75% in all academic examination.
  • This scheme is not applicable for RTE students and other students those who are getting benefits from other foundations such as NGOs, Guardian job places, Railway employees.

Eligibility

  • The First, Second and Third rank holders would be considered from school committees only.
  • Committee members will enlist the merit of the students according to standard wise rankers, not division wise. Each standard wise one student for first rank & one student for second rank holders are selected.
  • The scholarship is applicable for those students who have attended all academic exams. Those who have admitted in school after half term then they are not eligible for this scheme.
  • Final awardees for scholarship are selected by their academic examination performance of whole year, irrespective to subject teachers and division.

Disbursal of Scholarship

After selection, the awardees will be paid scholarship in the form of:

  • 1st Rank holder: Donor will fulfil 50% fees of the school academic & parents will pay only 50% fees of the total fees.
  • 2nd Rank holder: Donor will fulfil 40% fees of the school academic & parents will pay only 60% fees of the total fees.
  • 3rd Rank holder: Donor will fulfil 30% fees of the school academic & parents will pay only 70% fees of the total fees.

Scholarship recipients may be selected on the basis of criteria;
HOW TO SELECT RANK HOLDERS

 

Key Points

  • In selecting scholarship recipients, the institution and donor shall not take into account a candidate’s employment relationship with any person.
  • Family members of past or present directors and employees of the institute shall not be eligible to receive scholarship grants.
  • It is also mandatory for the rank holders students to score marks in Internal Assessment as well that is subject enrichment & notebook completion.
  • Scholarship will be awarded for offline academic examinations only.
  • Initially, parents are suppose to complete all the dues and at the end of the academic session, students scoring highest marks will be awarded scholarship as per the declared scholarship programme.
  • In the beginning period, Scholarship fund will be fulfilled to Firs t & Second rank holders of all standard according to donors fundraising. After getting more availability of fundraising, committee member will select Third rank holders too.

Notification of Scholarship Recipients

  • Scholarship recipients shall be notified after the institution has given final approval of the Scholarship Fund.
  • The institution shall provide each scholarship recipient with a letter notifying him / her of the grant, and specifying that all amounts must be exclusively for tuition fees at primary education
  • The recipient shall be required to sign and a return a copy of the letter indicating his/her acceptance of the scholarship.
  • If recipient is denying for scholarship then it is cancelled for them. Cancelled scholarship will not be forwarded to any other suggested student.

  • Focus on the specific selection criteria in determining the rank holders
  • Understanding the need for fairness and non-discrimination within the scholarship process
  • Constantly tracking the selection procedure of rank holders
  • Maintaining all the records of rank holders standard wise.

Record Keeping

The institution shall keep records, which shall include:

  • All information that the institute secure to evaluate the qualification of potential scholarship recipients.
  • The name, address and the other contact or identifying information for each scholarship recipient.
  • The amount and purposes of each scholarship
  • A copy of the letter notifying the recipient of the scholarship grant

Investigation and Enforcement Procedure

  • If recipient found to take scholarship benefit from both institution/foundation the our institution shall intimate investigation. Our institution shall withhold further payments to the extent possible.
  • Any individual causes the misuse of scholarship award funds; the institution will pursue the investigation and enforcement measures. It shall take all reasonable and appropriate steps to recover it.
  • If the student transfers to the another school then scholarship fund shall be ceased.
